Space Station Calls Scout Camp

The International Space Station had a scheduled radio contact today with the Scouts at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp in Calverton, NY. Thanks to Phil Whittle for telling me about this.

The contact was to start at 1647 UTC and was probably over by the time I got his message.

According to an article posted on the Southgate Amateur Radio Club's website:

An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp, Calverton, NY on Friday, 3rd of July. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 16:47 UTC.

The contact will be a telebridge between NA1SS and WH6PN, and will be conducted in English...

The music to the OA song has been used in many places since it was first composed by Alexis Lvov in 1833 as the Russian (Tsarist) National Anthem. A performance of this orignal anthem can be found in MP3 format at the link below. Does your lodge sound like this when they sing? *grin*
